Masar on a roll

Impressive Gentleman Beauty becomes his sire’s third new winner in five days

The first runners by Masar are well and truly making their presence on the racecourse, with the first-season sire recording his third new winner in just five days on Wednesday 13 November with victory for Gentleman Beauty at Chantilly.

The Gianluca Bietolini-trained colt was always prominent and once asked to quicken during the closing stages of the six-furlong contest, picked up impressively to win by two and a half lengths.

Gentleman Beauty was bred by Jean-Pierre Dubois and is out of the Lope de Vega mare Lady’s Beauty, a three-parts sister to Shamardal’s G2 performer and Listed winner Shamtee. They are from the family of fellow Darley stallion Territories, sire of Saturday’s G1 Sprint Cup winner Regional.

Masar is also sire of recent first-time-out winners Golden West and Placeholder. He was a talented juvenile himself, who went on to utterly dominate in the Craven before going on to place in the 2,000 Guineas and of course, win the Derby.
