Iffranesia a new Stakes winner for Iffraaj

Speedy mare lands the Prix Bonneval at Chantilly

Iffraaj’s five-year-old daughter Iffranesia made a successful trip to France on 5 October, where she recorded a front-running victory in the Listed Prix Bonneval, run over 1100m at Chantilly.

Sent straight to the lead under Stephane Pasquier, Robert Cowell’s charge battled superbly close to home to prevail in a blanket finish and win the race by a head and record her ninth career victory.

Iffranesia is owned and bred by Cyril Humphris and is out of the winning Anabaa mare Farnesina. The dam is a half-sister to smart sprinter Chineur and is also from the family of Group-winning sprinter Dibajj – also by Iffraaj.

Iffraaj has sired 27 individual Black type performers so far this year, including G2 winners Ribchester and Serena Miss, plus Magic Artist, Latharnach and Sardaaj – all of whom have been placed at G1 level this year.
