Another Stakes win for son of Iffraaj in big mile at Wingatui in New Zealand

Perfect result with back-to-back White Robe Lodge victories

Iffraaj gelding Perfect Scenario returned to Wingatui in glory when he won his second G3 White Robe Lodge WFA over 1,600m at Wingatui on Saturday, 3 February.

Beautifully rated by apprentice Niranjan Parmar in fourth spot to the home turn, Perfect Scenario finished powerfully down the middle of the track to beat Dazzling Miss by a half-length, with Times Ticking finishing well for third another half-length away.

Co-trained by Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson at Matamata, Perfect Scenario took his record to nine wins and eight placings from 34 starts for prize-money earnings of NZ$352,770.

The six-year-old gelding was bred by Gloria Graydon and Elizabeth Pollard and offered by Woburn Farm at the 2019 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Yearling Sale.

The son of G3 winner Rosetti Bay, who has also produced Listed winner Queen’s Bay, was bought by Te Akau Racing principal David Ellis for NZ$165,000.

Perfect Scenario continued a successful run for Darley’s English shuttle stallion Iffraaj, who sired Ayrton to win the Listed John Dillion Stakes (1,600m) at Caulfield last week.

Iffraaj has 1167 individual winners worldwide of 3357 races.

His progeny have won 177 Stakes races worth almost 61 million pounds and the stallion is currently in the top 10 of all sires in New Zealand with a winner-to-runner percentage of an impressive 33.
