Back-to-back Stakes wins for son of Authorized

Answered takes the Martin Moloney Stakes to becomes his sire’s second Black type winner of the day

Authorized’s son Answered showed plenty of promise last year, finishing second in the G3 Ballysax Stakes before rounding off his season with a win in the Listed Trigo Stakes. On 25 April, he made a successful seasonal debut when sweeping to victory in the Listed Martin Moloney Stakes.

Sent off as odds-on favourite to take the 12.5-furlong contest, Jim Bolger’s charge was settled in fourth position before demonstrating an impressive turn of foot close to home to ease to the lead and win in convincing style.

Bred by Cheveley Park Stud and now running in the Godolphin blue, Answered is one of two winners from two foals to race out of the G1 winner Dublino, her other winner being Woody Bay (New Approach).

Authorized, who sired fellow Listed winner Authoritarian in Australia earlier today, is also sire of G1 winner Hartnell this year. Sire of four G1 winners in total, plus a further three G1 performers, Authorized stands at Haras du Logis at a fee of €10,000 October 1st SLF.
