Another impressive debutant winner for Helmet

Taamol scores decisively on his debut at Newmarket

Helmet sired his seventh European-bred winner on Saturday 25 June when his son Taamol ran out the impressive winner of a seven furlong maiden at Newmarket. Making his debut for trainer Sir Michael Stoute, he drifted to the far rail in the final furlong but still had one-and-a-half lengths to spare over Devil’s Bridge (Casamento).

Bred by Derek Gibbons, Tomas Kerin & Ann Gibbons and a 140,000Gns yearling, Taamol is a son of the Montjeu mare Supreme Seductress, a half-sister to G1 juvenile and Cheshire Oaks winner Menhoubah.

Helmet, already the sire of a Stakes winner in Australia, has also sired in Europe the Stakes-placed Boater, impressive debutant scorers Chupalla and Thunder Snow, who ran so well in the G2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and the multiple winners Orewa and Kreb's Cycle.
