Ancient Wisdom earns first Black Type victory in G3 Autumn Stakes

Exciting Dubawi colt strikes at Newmarket

Dubawi’s two-year-old son, Ancient Wisdom, took another step forward in his career and looks an exciting prospect for next year with a commanding victory in the G3 Autumn Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday, 14 October.  Owned by Godolphin this was his first Black Type win.

Stepping up into Group company, the Charlie Appleby-trained colt broke well and travelled strongly, tracking the early leaders under William Buick. He quickened up to take the lead two furlongs out and soon put daylight between himself and his rivals to score by three and three-quarter lengths, under a hands and heels ride in the eight-furlong contest.

This was Ancient Wisdom’s third win from four starts. He made an impressive debut when posting a five-length win over seven furlongs at Haydock in June, which was followed up two weeks later when winning at Newmarket by a length and three quarters. He then stepped up into Listed company five weeks later to finish a respectable third to subsequent G1 winner, Rosallion.

Ancient Wisdom was bred in France by Ecurie Des Monceaux and was a €2,000,000 Arqana Deauville August Yearling purchase. He is the son of G3-winning mare Golden Valentine (Dalakhani), who is an own-sister to G3-scorer, Goldwaki.

Dubawi was also the sire of yesterday’s exciting G3 Oh So Sharp Stakes winner, Dance Sequence, the juvenile filly remains unbeaten in two starts. So far, Dubawi has sired 32 Stakes winner this year, with seven winning at the highest level, including Lord North, Modern Games, Eldar Eldarov and In Italian.
