20th Stakes winner of 2015 for Shamardal

Sixth Sense wins the Listed Winkfield Stakes

Shamardal’s stunning 2015 continued at Ascot when his juvenile son Sixth Sense made all the running to land the Listed Winkfield Stakes. The most experienced in the line up after six previous starts that included a course and distance third in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot, he never saw another rival to win by one-and-a-quarter lengths. A race with a rich tradition, the Winkfield Stakes was won in 2007 by Raven's Pass before becoming one of Europe’s premier milers.

Bred by Darley, Sixth Sense is a half-brother to three Stakes performers including the multiple Stakes winner Lake Toya. His dam, the Sadler’s Wells mare Shinko Hermes, is a half-sister to the Champion Generous and a full-sister to Oaks heroine Imagine.

Shamardal’s 20 Stakes winners this year including the world’s best turf miler Able Friend, Singapore G1 winner Dan Excel, with eight further Group winners including Balios, Dariyan, Amaron, Tryster, French Navy and Fintry.
