Tenth Stakes winner of the year for Night Of Thunder

Chicago Critic lands the Listed Amethyst Stakes

Chicago Critic, a four-year-old son of Night Of Thunder, won his first career Stakes race on Sunday, 11 May when landing the Listed Amethyst Stakes. Run over a mile at Leopardstown, he swept down the outside to win by one-and-three-quarter lengths.

Now the winner of three career races, Chicago Critic was also placed last season in the G3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot. 

Bred by Forenaghts Stud, he is out of the Graded winner Criticism and a half-brother to four winners including Dubawi’s Stakes winner Magical Touch. Criticism also has a yearling colt by Ghaiyyath

Night Of Thunder has now sired 10 Stakes winners this season including Choisya, who won the G1 Jenny Wiley Stakes and 1,000 Guineas heroine Desert Flower, who remained unbeaten last weekend at Newmarket.
