Seven Group wins for Shamardal’s amazing Amaron

Consistent campaigner lands G3 Fruhjahrs-Meile for the second year in a row

Amaron has been a marvellous campaigner for his sire Shamardal, winning at Stakes level in every season he has raced and the G1 winner continued this fine tradition for another year as he made a successful seasonal debut in the G3 Fruhjahrs-Meile at Dusseldorf.

Taking the one-mile contest by a length, the six-year-old entire was recording an impressive seventh victory at Group level and eighth Stakes win. His best win to date was in the G1 Premio Vittorio di Capua.

Bred in the UK by Genesis Green Stud, Amaron is out of the Bertolini mare Amadalini, herself a half-sister to G2 winner PersianLux. They are from the family of G1 Prix Marcel Boussac winner Tropicaro.

Amaron’s win today comes just hours after another son of Shamardal, Zawraq, ran out the very impressive winner of the 2,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown.

Shamardal has now sired nine individual Black type winners and a further four who have placed at Stakes level this year. He stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €70,000 October 1st SLF.
