Machiavellian Lady the latest winner for Too Darn Hot

First-season sire enjoys success both on the track and in the ring

Too Darn Hot has made an outstanding start to his stud career, siring four individual Group winners to date, headed by G1 heroine Fallen Angel. On Thursday 5 October, he added a 22nd winner to his record when promising filly Machiavellian Lady broke her maiden at Chelmsford.

The Eve Johnson Houghton-trained filly was prominent throughout the seven-furlong contest and battled impressively close to home to hold off the challenge from Qatar Moon and win by a nose.

Machiavellian Lady was bred by Cliveden Stud and becomes the sixth winner out of the Stakes-winning Street Cry mare Brevity.

Too Darn Hot has also enjoyed a very successful week at Tattersalls, where the October Yearling Sale Book 1 concluded on Thursday. He posted an average of over 190,000 guineas, with a top price of 450,000 guineas given by the Hong Kong Jockey Club for his colt out of Sellsabeel, a half-sister to Alpha Centuari and already dam of a winner by Too Darn Hot in Zenjabeela.
