G3 Oh So Sharp Stakes win for Dance Sequence

Dubawi’s juvenile daughter secures Black Type victory on second start

Dubawi’s promising two-year-old daughter, Dance Sequence, gained a second career success to remain unbeaten and clinch her first Black Type victory when landing the seven-furlong G3 Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket on Friday, 13 October.  She confirmed herself an exciting prospect for next year, with the Classic trials possibly being her future target.

The Charlie Appleby-trained filly, who was last seen out when a half-length winner on debut at Newmarket in July, was settled towards the rear by William Buick and sat in last position at the halfway stage, however although showing signs of greenness she overcame her inexperience to make good progress from two furlongs out. Challenging the leader inside the final furlong she battled hard to get her head in front to prevail by a neck.

Owned and bred by Godolphin, Dance Sequence is a daughter of Listed-winning mare Tearless (Street Cry), herself an own-sister to G3 victrix Anjaz, she has produced three other winners including Stakes heroine Romantic Song.

Dubawi has so far sired seven individual G1 winners this year, including Lord North who won the Dubai Turf for a third consecutive year, Master Of The Seas (Turf Mile Stakes), In Italian, a dual G1 winner this year and Eldar Eldarov, who added the Irish St Leger to his c.v.
