Dubawi sires his 14th Stakes winner of the year

Juvenile filly Nova Step lands the Criterium de l'Ouest at Craon

Dubawi's sensational season continued into September on Monday, when his two-year-old daughter Nova Step gained her first Black type in style, running out the length-and-a-half winner of the Listed Criterium de l'Ouest at Craon in France.

This was her second consecutive victory, having finished second on her racecourse debut in July before breaking her maiden in convincing fashion last month.

Bred by Dreosan Limited, Nova Step is out of the Stakes-winning Nureyev mare Light Step, a half-sister to G2 winner and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile runner-up Eltish.

Dubawi has now sired no fewer than 15 individual Black type winners, ten of whom have won at Group level. His best performer to date is the multiple G1 winner Makfi, who emulated his sire and grandsire earlier in the season when landing the Prix Jacques le Marois.
