Deuce Again a clear winner at Nottingham

Dubawi filly lands the Listed Further Flight Stakes to become her sire’s 20th Black type performer of the year

It may only be early April, but Dubawi’s tally of 2015 Black type performers already stands at a very healthy 20 as of today (three more than at this stage last year), thanks to a game effort from his daughter Deuce Again to take the Listed Further Flight Stakes at Nottingham.

John Gosden’s charge was settled in mid division under jockey Robert Havlin and always looked to be travelling well. Asked to quicken once entering the home straight, Deuce Again kept to her task superbly to reel in long-time leader Island Remede and moved clear to win by a length and a half.

Lightly raced at three, she broke her maiden by almost four lengths earlier this year before following up with another wide-margin win in February.

Deuce Again was bred by Meon Valley Stud and is one of three winners out of the Unfuwain mare Match Point, a half-sister to dual Classic winner and G1 producer Chesa Plana and a close relative of G1 winners San Sebastian and Sajjhaa (King's Best).

Dubawi, who stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £125,000 Oct 1st SLF, is also sire of G1-winning trio Prince Bishop, Hunter’s Light and Shamal Wind this year, plus five further Group winners in Catkins, exciting UAE Derby winner Mubtaahij, Safety Check, Al Kazeem and Amber Orchid. In addition to siring more Black type performers than at this stage last year, he has also recorded twice as many Group winners and is currently the world's leading sire by prize money.
