Danadana brings up the double for Dubawi

Lands the Anatolia Trophy in Istanbul

Just a few hours after Prince Bishop landed the G3 September Stakes, another of Dubawi’s sons was victorious at Stakes level when Danadana ran out the impressive winner of the Listed Anatolia Trophy (a local G2 contest) in Istanbul.

Settled in midfield under Andrea Azteni, the five-year-old made his move two furlongs from home and ran on superbly to win by three and a half lengths. This was his second victory at Stakes level, having landed the G3 Huxley Stakes at Chester’s May meeting.

Bred by Darley and running in the colours of Sheikh Mohammed Obaid al Maktoum, Danadana is one of two winners from two foals to race out of the winning Barathea mare Zeeba, herself a full sister to Stakes-winning Group performer Lost Soldier Three. Zeeba is also a half-sister to Jumaireyah – dam of this year’s G2 Celebration Mile winner Afsare (also by Dubawi).

Danadana is one of 17 individual Stakes winners for Dubawi this year. The Dalham Hall flagbearer has been enjoying a superb season, recording four individual G1 winners and a further eight Group winners.
