Dubawi continues to fire in the Stakes winners and on Wednesday, 26 November his son Zaydann became the latest of his offspring to succeed at Black Type level with victory in the Listed Prix Lyphard at Deauville.
Francis-Henri Graffard’s charge was settled in mid division under Mickael Barzalona during the early stages of the nine-and-a-half-furlong contest. Moving up at the top of the straight, he was hard pressed by Zoom in the closing stages but found more in the dying strides to get up and win by a neck. He now has three wins to his name and has never finished out of the first three.
An Aga Khan homebred, Zaydann is out of the Stakes-winning Siyouni mare Zaykava, herself a daughter of the great racemare and G1 producer Zarkava.
Dubawi now has 32 individual Black Type winners in 2025, headed by six G1 winners: Notable Speech, Rebel’s Romance, Delacroix, Lead Artist, Silawi and Walk Of Stars.
Dubawi stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £350,000, Oct 1, SLF.
