Point Barrow returned to winning form with a strong performance in the G3 Don Casboult Classic at Caulfield on Saturday, 21 March.
Resuming from her run in the G1 Oakleigh Plate, the three-year-old settled fifth on the inside under Daniel Stackhouse before improving into the race on straightening. Angling clear at the 100m, she finished strongly to score by a length.
Trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman, Point Barrow has now won five of her eight starts, with earnings approaching AU$540,000.
Her previous Stakes success came during the Melbourne Cup Carnival, where she captured the G3 Red Roses Stakes at Flemington. She is now likely to return to G1 company in the Robert Sangster Stakes during the Adelaide carnival.
Bred by Morning Rise Stud in conjunction with Yarraman Park, Point Barrow is a daughter of Blue Point.
Blue Point has now sired 29 individual Black Type winners, headed by triple G1 winner, Champion Miler and new Darley stallion, Rosallion. His latest crop of yearlings made up to a million guineas in the sales ring.
