New winner for Palace Pier

Sirius A gets off the mark at the second time of asking at Leicester

World Champion miler Palace Pier sired another new winner when his son Sirius A stepped up from a promising debut to win the 7f Maiden Stakes at Leicester on Saturday, 14 June.

Positioned handily, Sirius A travelled strongly into the contest and always looked the winner when hitting the front two furlongs from home. The colt stayed on well to win by a length.

Bred by Flaxman Stables Ireland, Sirius A is the seventh foal out of Stakes-winning Sea The Stars mare Night Of Light.

Palace Pier was successful five times at the highest level, with his G1 victories including back-to-back editions of the Prix Jacques le Marois. He has made an exciting start to his career at stud, with three winners already on the board. Godolphin homebred Morris Dancer was the first of his winners when he struck at Haydock Park, followed by A Bit Of Spirit winning on debut at Newbury just two days ago.
