Blue Point added a new juvenile Black Type winner to his record on Monday, 20 October when his daughter Pearl Fortune ran out the ready winner of the Listed Critérium de Vitesse, run over 1,100m at Deauville.
Always handily placed under Cristian Demuro, the Karl Burke-trained filly was asked to quicken once entering the final two furlongs and taking the lead a furlong from home, ran on superbly to win comfortably by two lengths.
Pearl Fortune won by five lengths on her racecourse debut in July and was last seen finishing a respectable fourth in the Listed Rosebery Stakes at Ayr.
She was bred by Pigeon Park Stud and is one of eight winners out of Sarawati (Haafhd), making her a half-sister to G1 winner Ventura Storm and fellow Stakes performers Sword Zorro and Hamaki.
Blue Point has now sired 12 individual Black Type winners this year, including recent Critérium de Maisons-Laffitte hero Samangan, plus G1 Sun Chariot runner-up Blue Bolt and G1 Commonwealth Cup third Rayevka.
