Having already landed the G3 Prix Eclipse on his previous start, Blue Point’s two-year-old colt Samangan powered clear to take the G2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte over six furlongs at Chantilly on Saturday, 11 October.
Ridden handily under Mickael Barzalona, Samangan was always travelling best and found plenty when asked for an effort in the final two furlongs to win by a clear margin.
He could be a real talent!

Owned and bred by Aga Khan Studs, Samangan is a daughter of the winning Oasis Dream mare Samadrisa, who has produced two previous winners including the Listed scorer Simeen.
One of Europe’s leading young stallions, Blue Point’s record-breaking first crop included G1-winning sprinters Big Evs and Kind Of Blue, as well as Irish 2,000 Guineas and St James’s Palace Stakes winner Rosallion.
