Blue Point sires new Stakes winner in France

Qualixia lands the Listed Grand Prix de Fontainebleau

Leading young sire Blue Point added a new Stakes winner to his record when his four-year-old daughter Qualixia took the Listed Grand Prix de Fontainebleau over 2,000m on Saturday, 22 November.

Settled in rear under Malone Favriaux, Qualixia was brought wide of the field when asked for her effort, coming from last to first inside the final 400m and going on to win comfortably by just under two lengths.

Bred by Gestüt Fährhof, Qualixia is out of the unraced Lomitas mare Quariana, who herself is out of the dual Group-winning miler Quebrada (Devil’s Bag).

Blue Point’s impressive 27 individual Stakes winners worldwide include Champion miler Rosallion, who joins the Darley roster for 2026, plus G1-winning sprinters Big Evs and Kind Of Blue. His current third crop of juveniles includes the impressive G2 winner Samangan.

Blue Point stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €100,000, Oct 1, SLF.
