Turkish delight for Raven’s Pass

Secret Number easily lands the G2 Bosphorus Cup

Raven’s Pass’s consistent son Secret Number won his fifth Stakes race on Sunday 3 September when easily landing the G2 Bosphorus Cup on day two of Turkey’s International meeting. Keen early off a very slow early pace, he made his move turning into the straight under jockey Gerald Mosse and was never really challenged to win easily.

Lightly raced for a seven-year-old, he was winning his sixth race in 16 career starts with his previous biggest triumph coming in the G3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes at Ascot.

Secret Number is one of three Group winners produced by the Alleged mare Mysterial, after the pair of G1-winning milers Dubai Destination and Librettist.

Raven’s Pass is also sire this year of three-time Group winner Big Duke in Australia, French G3 winner Via Ravenna, who was second in the G1 Prix Rothschild last time out, Stakes-winning G2 filly Elas Ruby and Listed scorers Greg Pass and Viscount Barfield.
