Outstrip’s first foal arrives

‘Quality filly’ born at Fox Farm

Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf victor Outstrip, who is part of the 2016 Darley Club, has become the latest member of the Darley roster to welcome his first foal.

His first reported foal was a grey filly (pictured below), born at Fox Farm on 24 January. She is out of Mark Johnston’s mare Tiffany Diamond and has already earned high praise from Robin Sharp, who said: “I’m delighted with our grey filly out of winning and Group-placed mare Tiffany Diamond. She is of very good size, good bone and has a lot of quality.”

Tiffany Diamond (Sadler’s Wells) finished second in the G3 Blue Wind Stakes at Naas, before rounding off her racing career with a fourth place in the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot. She is from the family of Nasseem, winner of the Cherry Hinton Stakes and placed in both the Queen Mary and Coronation Stakes.

Outstrip won on his racecourse debut at Newmarket at two, before finishing second to his new stablemate and fellow Club stallion Toormore in the G2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood. He went on to take the G2 Champagne Stakes, before recording a brilliant victory in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Santa Anita. At three, he finished third in the G1 St James’s Palace Stakes behind Kingman and Night Of Thunder.

Outstrip, the highest rated European two-year-old by Exceed And Excel, stands as a Darley Club stallion at Dalham Hall Stud.
