Nezwaah becomes Dubawi’s 30th G1 winner

Dubawi sires his second G1 winner on the day with easy Pretty Polly Stakes success

Dubawi enjoyed a stunning Sunday when his daughter Nezwaah became his second G1 winner of the day, easily winning the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh.

After Zarak had earlier triumphed in the G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, the improving four-year-old came through from the rear in the strongly-run contest to sweep clear to record a three-and-a-quarter-length triumph. The Roger Varian-trained filly has now won five of her nine starts and is unbeaten this season after a very easy Listed win at Ayr back in May.

Nezwaah is the first foal of the 122-rated Stakes winner Ferdoos (Dansili), who won the Listed Pinnacle Stakes as a four-year-old. She also has a two-year-old filly by Shamardal, named Monteja and also in training with Roger Varian, a yearling filly by Dubawi and is back in foal to him this season.

Dubawi has now sired 30 individual G1 winners including his four-time G1 hero Postponed, recently retired due to injury, 2,000 Guineas victor Night Of Thunder, Queen Elizabeth II Stakes scorer Poet’s Voice and top-flight Dubai winners Hunter’s Light and Monterosso.
