Vazirabad lands the G3 Prix de Lutece

Lightly-raced son of Manduro wins at Longchamp

Vazirabad, a promising three-year-old stayer by Manduro, graduated to Group company in style on Sunday 6 September when landing the G3 Prix de Lutece. Coming into the race on the back of victories at Dieppe and Deauville, he was held up in the rear early before make his challenge in the straight to gamely defeat Godolphin’s Big Blue.

Owned and bred by H.H The Aga Khan, Vazirabad is a son of the G3-winning mare Visorama (Linamix) and a half-brother to the Stakes winner Visoriyna.

In 2015, Manduro has sired Stakes winners in four different continents including Group winning miler Fractional in France, G1-winning juvenile colt Braco Forte in Brazil and a pair of European-bred Australian Listed winners in Bonfire and Greatwood.
