Vale Of York's good week continues

Spagone wins in convincing style in Rome

First-season sire Vale Of York further increased his number of winners on 24 October when his two-year-old son Spagone obliged over six furlongs in Rome.

Always racing in a prominent position, Spagone travelled well throughout and ran on well to win by two lengths.

Bred by Pat Roach, he is out of the winning mare Wiolante, making him a half-brother to multiple Group winner and Black type producer Waleria.

Vale Of York also enjoyed success at Newmarket earlier this week, courtesy of Great Park who was recording his second win. He is also sire of unbeaten multiple Group winner Fontanelice.
