Third G1 triumph for Dubawi's Postponed

Postponed records stunning victory at Epsom in the G1 Coronation Cup on Derby day

Postponed, a five-year-old son of Dubawi, recorded his third G1 triumph with stunning ease in the Coronation Cup over a mile and a half at Epsom on Derby day, triumphing over a top-class field to score by four and a half lengths.

Settled in third behind pacemaker Roseburg and his paternal half-sister Arabian Queen, Postponed traveled with ominous ease throughout the race. Under Andrea Atzeni, he cruised into the lead over a furlong from home and stretched away from his seven rivals, to defeat the G1-winning filly Found who ran on for second.

Postponed is now the winner of eight of his 16 starts, with six of those victories coming in Group company. Having registered his first G1 success in the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot last year, he went on to land the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic at Meydan in March. His third G1 triumph on Saturday took his earnings to over £3.9m.

Bred by St Albans Bloodstock LLP, Postponed is out of the winning Dubai Destination mare Ever Rigg, and is herself a daughter of the Irish G1-winning juvenile Bianca Nera.

Postponed is one of 23 individual G1 winners sired by Dubawi, and one of 12 Stakes winners he has been represented by to date in 2016. Dubawi stands at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket.
