Son of Authorized claims G2 in New Zealand

Maygrove triumphs in Wellington Cup

Authorized landed his tenth winner at Group level when his four-year-old son Maygrove claimed the G2 Wellington Cup at Trentham in New Zealand, January 24.

An unlucky runner-up at Listed level by the narrowest of margins at his previous start, Maygrove made amends with a dominant two-length victory.

Bred by the Laurel Oak Lady Zhivago Syndicate, Maygrove is the first foal to race from city-winning Zabeel mare Lady Zhivago, a half-sister to Stakes performer Melody.

The sire of 20 Stakes winners including G1 winners Ambivalent, Seal of Aprroval and Complacent, Authorized will stand the coming breeding season at Haras du Logis at a fee of €10,000 (October 1st SLF).
