Second straight Group win for Almanaar

Dubawi’s consistent three-year-old son takes the Prix Daphnis

Almanaar (Dubawi) has progressed beautifully this year and on 29 June he recorded his second consecutive Group win and third straight Stakes win when landing the G3 Prix Daphnis at Chantilly.

Soon in front under Thierry Jarnet, the three-year-old was in command throughout the nine-furlong contest and kept to his task superbly close to home to win in style.

Trained by Freddie Head, Almanaar won the Listed Prix de Pontarme at Saint-Cloud in May before taking the G3 Prix Paul de Moussac at Chantilly earlier this month.

Owned and bred by Shadwell Stud, he is out of the G2 Prix de Sandringham winner and G1 Falmouth Stakes third Baqah, also dam of multiple winner Funon (Cape Cross).

Almanaar is one of 17 Group winners so far this year for Dubawi, who remains the world’s leading sire of G1 winners, Group winners and Stakes winners.
