Second juvenile Stakes winner in as many days for Dubawi

Titus Mills leads home a 1-2-3 for Darley’s outstanding young sire in the Stardom Stakes at Goodwood

It may only be Tuesday, but leading second-season sire Dubawi has already recorded two new Black type winners this week with Nova Step’s win the Listed Criterium d’Ouest on Monday swiftly followed by Titus Mills leading home his paternal half-brothers Big Issue and Surrey Star in the Stardom Stakes at Goodwood.

Making all in the seven-furlong contest, Titus Mills was challenged by Big Issue inside the final furlong but dug deep close to home and won by half a length, with Surrey Star taking third.

Titus Mills is now unbeaten in two starts, having broken his maiden at Ascot (also over seven furlongs) in July. Trainer Brian Meehan indicated after the race that he is now likely to be aimed at the G1 Dewhurst Stakes.

Dubawi has now sired 16 individual Stakes winners worldwide, including four Stakes-winning juveniles this year.
