Second Group victory for son of New Approach

Elliptique takes the Grand Prix de Vichy

Four-year-old New Approach colt Elliptique has been a very consistent campaigner for his sire this year and on 22 July, he added a second Group victory to his record when landing the G3 Grand Prix de Vichy in France.

Making all under jockey Amelie Foulon, Andre Fabre’s charge was some five lengths clear as the field began to quicken for home and despite a sustained challenge from eventual second Mambomiss, kept on superbly to win by a length and a quarter.

Winner of the G3 Prix de Conde at Longchamp as a two-year-old, Elliptique has now won on five occasions and has been placed a further four times in his 13 starts.

Elliptique was bred by the Rothschild family and is the second Black type winner out of the Kendor mare Uryale.

New Approach has sired 17 individual Stakes winners to date, four of whom have excelled at G1 level including his outstanding son Dawn Approach, whose first foals arrived this year.
