Second Group victory for daughter of Raven's Pass

A G3 winner at the course as juvenile last season, Raven's Pass's three-year-old daughter Malabar landed her second Group contest on Friday 31 July when taking G3 Thoroughbred Stakes in decisive fashion. Tucked away on the rails behind the pacesetters until two furlongs from home, she soon put the race to bed when seeing daylight, running away to record a three length triumph.

Bred by Woodcote Stud Ltd and hailing from the family of Inchinor, Malabar is a daughter of the five-time winner Whirly Bird, who was also placed in the Listed Harvest Stakes. Whirly Bird, who  is the dam of four winners from five starters, also has a juvenile colt by Poet's Voice named Poet's Word, who was a 300,000Gns yearling purchase and is in training with Sir Michael Stoute.

Raven's Pass has also sired in 2015 multiple French Stakes winner Kataniya, juvenile Listed winner Riflescope and four further Stakes performers including the very promising two-year-old colt Ibn Malik, runner up earlier in the week in the G2 Vintage Stakes on only his second start.
