Second G3 victory for son of Dubawi

Fox Hunt leads home a 1-2-3 for the Darley stallions at Meydan

Leading sire Dubawi recorded his first Group winner of the year in style on 1 March when Fox Hunt maintained his unbeaten record for 2012, landing the Nad al Sheba Trophy at Meydan.

Handily placed under Frankie Dettori entering the home straight, Fox Hunt was hard pressed by previous G2 winner and eventual second Opinion Poll (Halling) but found more close to home and ran out the convincing winner. Jakkalberry, by fellow Darley stallion Storming Home completed the trifecta.

Bred by Ballylinch Stud and now running in the colours of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed al Maktoum, Fox Hunt is out of the Stakes-winning Sadler’s Wells mare Kiltubber, herself a daughter of G1 winner and Champion Juvenile Priory Belle.

Dubawi enjoyed another banner year in 2011, siring no fewer than five G1 winners worldwide, and a further seven Group winners.
