Resonates lands Matchmaker Classic for Teofilo

Takes Listed contest by four lengths in Australia

Teofilo’s four-year-old daughter Resonates gained a well-deserved first victory at Stakes level, winning the Listed Matchmaker Stakes on April 11 by an impressive four lengths at Ascot, Australia.

Jumping straight to the lead, jockey William Pike kept the mare out of trouble where she proved untouchable in the run, taking her record to four wins and four placed efforts from 15 career starts.

Bred by Mr P Slater, Resonates is the first Stakes winner for the Warning mare Cuff, from the family of G1 performers Thatching, Golden Thatch and Tuscan Sky.

Resonates is the 35th Stakes winner sired by Teofilo, highlighted by seven G1 winners including Doncaster Mile winner Kermadec, Queensland Derby winner Sonntag and Irish Derby winner Trading Leather.

Teofilo stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €50,000 Oct 1st, SLF.
