Red Dubawi wins the G3 Badener Meile

Son of Dubawi wins his second Stakes race at Baden-Baden

Red Dubawi, from the second crop of standout stallion Dubawi, enjoyed his biggest career success on Thursday May 29 when winning the G3 Badener Meile at Baden-Baden. Making his first start for German trainer Frau E Mader after previously being trained in France by Alain de Royer-Dupre and in Ireland by David Marnane, today's victory was his second at Stakes level after a Listed victory in Prix Pelleas as a three-year-old.

Red Dubawi's success took his sires' tally to 25 Group winners from his first crops, a figure higher than all other European or North American stallions at the same stage of their careers. He is now three clear of his closest pursuer Giant's Causeway with a further six Group winners back to close relatives Shamardal and Street Cry, who are tied for third.

Bred by Haras des Sablonnets, Red Dubawi is the best runner to date out of Stakes winning mare Maredsous (Homme de Loi).

Dubawi, who is standing this season at a fee of £100,000, has now sired nine Group winners in 2014 including a world leading four G1 winners. In March, Prince Bishop won the Al Maktoum Challenge R3 over ten furlongs in Dubai and Tiger Tees landed a G1 sprint in Australia. Dubawi then doubled his tally in May when Night Of Thunder won the 2,000 Guineas and Lucky Nine landed the International Sprint at Kranji in Singapore.
