Oaks Trial victory for daughter of Authorized

Daksha lands Diana Trial at Baden-Baden

Authorized has made a great start to the 2013 flat racing season, recording two impressive Group winners already in Rehn’s Nest and Sugar Boy. On 11 May, his three-year-old daughter Daksha became his latest Black type winner when landing the ten-furlong Diana Trial at Baden-Baden.

Racing towards the rear of the field during the early stages, Daksha eased her way into second place along the back straight and battled impressively close to home to win by a length from favourite Quilita, with the third-placed filly a further length-and-a-quarter behind.

Bred by Gestut Ittlingen, Daksha is out of the winning Rahy mare Dareen, who has produced six winners from six foals to race. She is herself a daughter of G1 Coronation Stakes winner Golden Opinion.

Authorized, who stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £7,000 October 1st SLF, is also sire of Group colts Tenenbaum, Castello Aragonese and Mano Diao. This year he has sired 22 winners already, including the aforementioned Group-winning duo of Rehn’s Nest and Sugar Boy, plus progressive filly We’ll Go Walking, narrowly beaten in a Listed contest last time out and lines up in tomorrow’s G3 Irish 1,000 Guineas Trial.
