No delay for Postponed at Hamilton

Promising Dubawi colt lands the Listed Glasgow Stakes to become his sire’s 20th Stakes winner of the year

Postponed, last seen finishing second in the G3 Tercentenary Stakes at Royal Ascot, has looked a likely Stakes winner for some time and on Friday evening at Hamilton, the son of Dubawi opened his Black type account in fine style with an easy victory in the Glasgow Stakes.

Held up towards the rear under Andrea Atzeni, the three-year-old made smooth headway from three furlongs out and taking the lead two furlongs from home, soon moved clear and won by three and a half lengths.

Luca Cumani’s charge is now likely to head to York for the G2 Great Voltiguer Stakes before a possible tilt at the St Leger.

Bred by St Albans Bloodstock LLP, Postponed is out of the winning Dubai Destination mare Ever Rigg, herself a daughter of G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Bianca Nera.

Dubawi has now sired an outstanding 20 Stakes winners so far this year, four of whom have been victorious at the highest level including 2,000 Guineas winner Night Of Thunder.
