New Zealand G2 victory for Iffraaj filly

Serena Miss wins G2 Matamata Breeders' Stakes

Two-year-old Iffraaj filly Serena Miss prevailed narrowly in a thrilling finish and then survived a protest to claim the G2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes in New Zealand, February 21.

Having just her fourth start, Serena Miss settled midfield in the early stages. Brought to centre of the track on straightening, she finished hard to grab victory in the final few strides.

Bred by Goodwood Stud, Serena Miss is the fourth foal to race and fourth winner from More Than Ready mare Gifted Lass, a half-sister to Stakes winner Presently.

Iffraaj is the sire of five G1 winners including last year’s Coronation Stakes winner Rizeena and Champion two-year-old Wootton Bassett. He is standing at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £22,500 (October 1st SLF).
