New Stakes winner for Shamardal

Dusky Queen lands the Listed City Plate at Chester

Shamardal’s excellent 2015 continued on Saturday July 11 when his daughter Dusky Queen landed her first Stakes race in the Listed City Plate at Chester. Held up near the rear in the seven furlong contest, she battled bravely in the straight to lead near the finish to record a head victory.

Bred by Paul Hyland, Dusky Queen is a daughter of the Refuse To Bend mare Sanna Bay, who is herself a half-sister to King's Best’s Group winning juvenile Albabilia.

Shamardal has now sired 18 individual Stakes winners in 2015 including the top-flight scorers Able Friend and Dan Excel, and Group winners Balios, Amaron, Tryster, French Navy and Fintry.
