New Stakes winner for Dubawi

Three-year-old filly Mangiapregaama victorious in Milan

For some time now, Dubawi has been a tremendous source of talented performers and 2013 is already shaping up to be another successful year with the Dalham Hall resident recording his 12th Black type horse on 7 April when Mangiapregaama won the Listed Premio Gardone in Milan.

The three-year-old filly (whose name translates as ‘Eat Pray Love’) took the one-mile contest by a length and three-quarters from previous Stakes winner Reina Cross, with the third-placed horse a further three lengths back.

Bred by La Cucchetta Soc Ag Srl, Mangiapregaama is out of the winning Cape Cross mare Lapistanera, herself a half-sister to Iffraaj’s Italian 1,000 Guineas winner Stay Alive.

Dubawi is also sire this year of G1 Al Maktoum Challenge R3 winner Hunter’s Light, plus G3 winner Ahzeemah (who was second behind Halling’s Cavalryman in the Dubai Gold Cup on Dubai World Cup night last weekend).

He stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £75,000 October 1st SLF.
