More Group glory for Magic Artist

Son of Iffraaj takes the G3 Premio Ambrosiano in Italy

Iffraaj's consistent four-year-old son Magic Artist notched another Group win on Sunday 19 April when landing the G3 Premio Ambrosiano over 2000m at San Siro in Milan. The German-trained colt, who won the G3 Bavarian Classic last season among a series of credible efforts at Group level, now has won three races and has only finished out of the first three once in his career.

Bred by Darley and sold as a yearling for 105,000Gns, Magic Artist is out of the Cape Cross mare Artisti, a half-sister to G1-winners Mastery and Kirklees as well as Magic Tree, the dam of Shamardal's highly-rated G1 winner Mukhadram. Artisti also has a two-year-old colt by New Approach named Point Of View (in training with Luca Cumani), a yearling filly by Raven's Pass and has been scanned in foal to New Approach again this season.

Iffraaj, who is standing at Dalham Hall Stud for the first time this year at a fee of £22,500 October 1st, SLF, is the sire of 29 Stakes winners including Champion juvenile Wootton Bassett, dual G1 heroine Rizeena and Breeders' Cup scorer Chriselliam.
