Kiyoshi lands the Albany

Daughter of Dubawi impresses at Royal Ascot

Kiyoshi, a juvenile daughter of Dubawi, easily landed her biggest success of her short career when scooting clear in the final furlong to land the G3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. Held up near the rear early in the six furlong contest, she readily went clear inside the final two furlongs, and despite drifting badly left, she still won by three-and-a-quarter lengths.

She becomes the second winner of the Royal Ascot meeting for Dubawi after the G1 success of Al Kazeem in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes on Wednesday.

Bred by Lowther Racing and bought as a yearling by David Redvers for 80,000Gns, she is out of the Stakes-placed mare Mocca (Sri Pekan) and from the family of G1-winning sprinter Ya Malak.

Dubawi has now sired eight European-bred Group winners in 2013, which is more than any other European stallion. This includes three at the highest level; the multiple G1 winner Al Kazeem, Dubai winner Hunter's Light and top-flight sprinter Lucky Nine.
