Juvenile Stakes success for Iffraaj colt

Bigger riches in store for all-the-way winner The Soultaker

Promising Iffraaj colt The Soultaker is likely to head to the NZ$1 million Karaka Millions next year after an impressive all-the-way victory in a juvenile Stakes race at Avondale, New Zealand, on November 21.

Two-year-old The Soultaker won the Listed Murdoch Newell Stakes (1100m) on his second race start for jockey Opie Bosson and trainers Donna Logan and Chris Gibbs.

Bred by George Simon, who also bred recent Iffraaj G1 winner Turn Me Loose, The Soultaker is out of Reset mare Miranda Miss, a daughter of Stakes winner Marie Claire. Miranda Miss also has a yearling filly by Iffraaj.

The Soultaker is one of 33 Stakes winners for her sire Iffraaj, who has also produced G1 winners Turn Me Loose, RizeenaChriselliam, Benvenue and Wootton Bassett. This year, he has sired G2 Mill Reef Stakes winner Ribchester, fellow G2 winner Serena Miss, plus G1 performers NathraMagic Artist, Latharnach and Sardaaj.

Iffraaj is standing at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £22,500 October 1st, Special live foal.
