Juvenile Stakes success for daughter of New Approach

Glamorous Approach digs deep to land the Listed Zetland Stakes at Newmarket

Seven years ago New Approach displayed his class to break the track record in the Champion Stakes and today his two-year-old daughter Glamorous Approach showed an equal liking for the same course and distance when landing the Zetland Stakes.

Never far off the pace from the stalls, she made her challenge heading into the dip and gamely held off the favourite Landofhopeandglory on the final climb to the line to win by one-and-a-quarter lengths with Move Up (Dubawi) a further one-and-a-quarter lengths back in third.

Bred by his trainer Jim Bolger, Glamorous Approach is a daughter of the Rock Of Gibraltar mare Maria Lee, who hails from the extended family of Teofilo. Maria Lee also has yearling and foal fillies both by Teofilo, which makes them inbred to both Danehill and Saviour (Teofilo's grandam) in the third generation.

Glamorous Approach is one of three juvenile Stakes performers trained by Jim Bolger this season with G2 Futurity Stakes hero Herald The Dawn his flag-bearer.
