Group victory for daughter of Teofilo

Tamaanee lands G2 Gerald Rosenberg Stakes in South Africa

Teofilo is enjoying a very successful year to date, with no fewer than 17 Black type performers to his name already. On 25 April one of these high-class runners, Tamaanee, added a well-deserved Group win with a dominant victory in the G2 Gerald Rosenberg Stakes at Turffontein.

The three-year-old filly, who was third in the G1 Empress Club Stakes on her last start, took the ten-furlong contest by almost four lengths to record her third career victory.

Tamaanee was bred in Australia by Pedrille Thoroughbreds and is out of the winning mare Cangino, herself a half-sister to Group winner and G1-placed colt I Am Invincible.

Teofilo is also sire of recent G1 winner Kermadec, who landed the Doncaster Mile at Randwick earlier this month, plus Flight Risk, who landed the Gladness Stakes last weekend. He stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €50,000 October 1st SLF.
