Great win by son of Manduro

Second Stakes success for Greatwood in Listed Parramatta Cup

Manduro’s son Greatwood picked himself up off the canvas to claim his second Stakes victory in the Listed Parramatta Cup at Rosehill, February 21.

Trained by Gai Waterhouse, Greatwood led in the early stages but was under severe pressure turning for home. Clearly headed by multiple horses a furlong from home, the five-year-old import showed tremendous fight to retake the lead in the shadows of the post and score a determined victory.

Bred by The Kingwood Partnership, Greatwood is out of the Galileo mare Gaze, who is a three-quarter-sister to G3 winner Gravitation, a half-sister to the Champion five-time G1 winner Fame And Glory and hails from the family of Darley stallion Farhh.

Manduro, sire of G1-winning fillies Charity Line and Ribbons as well as Mandaean, stands at Haras du Logis at a fee of €7,000 October 1st SLF.
