G3 winner Dibajj makes a successful return the racecourse

Daughter of Iffraaj bests her male counterparts to land the Listed Prix Servanne

Iffraaj’s four-year-old daughter Dibajj, winner of the G3 Prix du Petit Couvert last September, added further Black type to her record on 22 April when landing the Listed Prix Servanne at Maisons-Laffitte on her seasonal reappearance.

Never far from the pace under Gérald Mossé, Dibajj responded well close to home to take the lead from her male counterparts and win the six-furlong contest by a neck. This was her fourth career victory.

Bred by Cyril Humphries, Dibajj is out of the Royal Applause mare Goleta, herself a half-sister to smart sprinter Chineur (winner of the King’s Stand Stakes). Goleta produced a filly by Rio de la Plata last month.

Iffraaj is now sire of eight Black type performers so far in 2014, including Group winner Forjatt and last week’s Listed winner Prince Of All. His G1-winning daughter Rizeena is reportedly in fine form ahead of her tilt at the 1,000 Guineas next weekend, a race for which she is currently favourite to win.
