Forget the rest, son of Exceed And Excel proves best

Forget wins G3 Cameron Handicap at Newcastle

Forget, a son of Exceed And Excel, was rewarded for his consistency with his first Black type success in the G3 Cameron Handicap at Newcastle, Australia, September 18.

Jockey Kerrin McEvoy overcame the outside draw within the first 200m, sliding across the field to sit outside the leader. After turning for home Forget dashed to the lead and held off the late challenge of Malice (Teofilo) to win by over a length.

Bred by Darley, Forget is out of Encosta de Lago’s multiple G1-winning daughter Mnemosyne, who is also the dam of G2-placed Street Cry filly Memorial.

Forget is the 104th Stakes winner for Exceed And Excel, whose 10 G1 winners include record-breaking Caulfield Guineas winner Helmet as well as Excelebration and star juvenile fillies Guelph, Overreach and Earthquake.
