First mares scanned in foal to Alexandros

Three test positive to Haras du Logis stallion

Alexandros, new to Haras du Logis this season, has had three of his first mares covered scanned in foal.

One of the three, Portella, was most notable for winning the German 1,000 Guineas. Now owned by a syndicate, she has produced two winners to date, both by Darley stallions, Classic Port (Slickly) and Dubai Story (Dubawi). She also has a two-year-old colt by Cape Cross and a yearling colt by King's Best.

Also tested in foal is the Tiger Hill mare Big Bunny. Owned by Petit Tellier, she is a multiple winner and a granddaughter of Lady Tamara, who was a dual G3 winner and placed at the highest level. The Sholokhov mare, Zauberlocke, completes the trio. Owned by trainer Mathieu Boutin, she is a daughter of champion juvenile filly Zauberflote and from the family of German champion Zille.

Alexandros, who stands this season at €4,000, was a G1 juvenile who was consistent at the top level throughout his 28 race career, defeating no fewer than 23 G1 winners. From an superb family that includes Dubawi, he also hails from the same sire line as that exceptional young stallion.
