First of many for Shirocco

Grand Vent adds first Group win for his sire Shirocco

Three-year-old Grand Vent, from the first-crop of Dalham Hall stallion Shirocco, was the winner of the G2 Prix Noailles over ten furlongs at Longchamp on Sunday April 24. The colt is the first Group winner for the son of Monsun after being placed in his last two starts at Black type level including third place in the G3 Prix Thomas Bryon over a mile as a two-year-old. Grand Vent's next target could be the G2 Prix Hocquart over eleven furlongs at Longchamp on May 15.

The Andre Fabre trained colt was bred by Darley and is owned by Godolphin SNC. Out of the Listed-winning mare Housa Dancer, herself a half-sister to G2 winner Housamix, Grand Vent is also a half-brother to G3 Diomed Stakes winner Bushman. Housa Dancer also has a two-year-old by another Dalham Hall stallion Dubawi currently in training.

Brilliant winner of the G1 Breeders' Cup Turf and Coronation Cup, when defeating Ouija Board, Shirocco stands at Dalham Hall Stud for £10,000. Shirocco's other Black type performers include Listed winner Jardina.
