Elite Army battles to victory in the Buckhounds Stakes

Son of Authorized gains his first Black type win at Ascot

Elite Army returned to the racecourse for the first time in almost a year on 7 May and the son of Authorized could not have made a better comeback as he fought brilliantly to win the Listed Buckhounds Stakes.

Settled in third position under William Buick, Elite Army travelled well throughout the 12-furlong contest and once asked to quicken when approaching the final furlong marker, outbattled Scotland in tenacious fashion to win by a neck. Missed Call, also by Authorized, finished third.

Elite Army is out of the G3-winning, G1-placed mare White Rose, also dam of three further Stakes performers including Listed-winning Street Cry filly Pure Diamond. White Rose has a two-year-old filly by Manduro, named Saxon Rose.

Authorized, who has four G1 winners to date, is also sire this year of Group winners Maygrove and Signoff.

Authorized stands at Haras du Logis in Normandy at a fee of €10,000 October 1st SLF.
